HOW TO MAKE BAR SOAP

The art of soap making is an interesting one as all soaps are from two basic ingredient- lye and oil. Every other thing added to it are just additive.

The quantity of lye solution  to use to a given amount of oil is the main challenge in bar soap production.  To measure the standard gravity of lye, the  hydrometer is often used. While most people use the float method by dropping and egg in the lye solution. An online Lye calculator can also be used. Below is a good online lye calculator

MATERIALS  AND THEIR QUANTITY
1. Caustic Soda    ¼ kg                            
2. Palm Kernel Oil (PK Oil)  1/2 liters                                      
3. Beewax 1/2 kg
4. Lactic acid 3-4 table spoon
5.Carrots 2 to 3
6. Cucumber 1
7. Tumeric Powder
8. Sugar 2 table spoon
5. Sodium benzoate 2 – 3 table spoon
8. Perfume          
9. Color
Production method:
STEP 1: soak ¼ kg of caustic in 75cl of water 
STEP 2: Measure 60cl of Lye (caustic soda solution) 
STEP 3: Blend Your carrot, and cucumber together with very little water.  
STEP 4: Dissolve the sugar in a little quantity of water and add it to the caustic soda solution. 
STEP 6: Melt the bee wax or any other wax 
STEP 7: Remove the wax from fire and add the PKO to it and stir to blend.
STEP 8: Pour the lye solution to the oils and stir until it begins to get thicken
STEP 9: Add  lactic acid and stir
STEP 10: Add the blended carrot and cucumber paste to it
STEP 11: Add the Add the tumeric powder
STEP 12: Add your desired perfume and sodium Benzoate and stir.
STEP 13: Pour the past in molds and all it to cure for 3days or a week.
